Dave Matthews, frontman for Dave Matthews Band, and his longtime collaborator, acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Tim Reynolds, will play a special acoustic show Sunday, April 6 at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN to raise awareness of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign.
“Change Rocks – A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds,” is being presented by the Indiana University Union Board, which does not endorse any political candidate, and Students for Obama, and will be free to all Indiana residents. Tickets will be available for pick-up at several on-campus locations and at Obama campaign offices. A ticket and Indiana state ID or in-state student ID will be required for admission, which is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are limited to two per person.
Matthews and Reynolds are the latest musicians to throw their support behind a candidate. Fellow artists Sir Elton John and the Grateful Dead have planned shows in support of both Democratic candidates (John for Hillary Clinton and the Dead for Obama), in an effort to effect change and bring political awareness through music.
