Formula 1 has renewed its long-running broadcast partnership with Sky, securing exclusive live coverage across the UK, Ireland and Italy in a major multi-year deal that will take the relationship deep into the next decade.
Under the agreement, Sky Sports will continue to show every Formula 1 race weekend in the UK and Republic of Ireland through the 2034 season, while Sky Italia will retain rights through 2032. The deal includes every practice session, qualifying, sprint and Grand Prix, with coverage available on Sky Sports, Sky Sport and streaming service NOW.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, said Sky had been “a dedicated, trusted, and passionate partner” since the two companies began working together, praising its “world leading approach to live broadcasting, content creation, and behind-the-scenes analysis” and its on-screen talent for helping grow the sport in the UK, Ireland and Italy.
“I am delighted we will be taking our partnership into the next decade,” Domenicali said. “I want to thank Dana and all the team at Sky for their determination to get this deal in place and to continue to bring the excitement of Formula 1 to our passionate fans.”
The renewed partnership also keeps F1 Kids, Formula 1’s youth-focused broadcast product, within Sky’s offering. Free-to-air access will remain in place, with highlights of every Grand Prix and live coverage of the British Grand Prix continuing in the UK. In Italy, every race will be shown live on Sky Sport F1, supported by free-to-air coverage on TV8, including live coverage of every Italian Grand Prix.
Sky will also continue to broadcast Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 ACADEMY and Porsche Supercup, giving motorsport fans access to both Formula 1 and the sport’s next generation of drivers.
Dana Strong, Group CEO of Sky, said the broadcaster was “proud of the role we’ve played in supporting the sport’s growth through world-class storytelling, innovation and long-term investment.”
“This new agreement secures Sky as the home of Formula 1 for years to come, as the sport enters an exciting era with more British talent on the grid and rising stars like Kimi Antonelli,” Strong said. “I want to thank Stefano and the F1 team for our continued partnership, which we’re excited to build on in the years ahead.”
Sky has been the exclusive home of Formula 1 in the UK and Ireland since 2019. Since then, total viewing in the UK and Ireland has risen by 90%, under-35 viewing is up 120%, and female viewership has more than doubled. The 2025 season became Sky Sports’ most watched F1 campaign ever, delivering 162 million viewer hours.
In Italy, Formula 1 said viewing has started the 2026 season up 25%, driven by strong performances from Ferrari and Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli’s first victory at the Chinese Grand Prix drew 1.2 million viewers live on Sky, with another 1.4 million watching on TV8.
The agreement cements Sky’s position as Formula 1’s key broadcast partner in three major European markets, while giving F1 long-term certainty as it continues to chase younger, broader and more diverse audiences.
