Jamie Lloyd’s London revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Evita” is set to transfer to Broadway in 2027. Performances are scheduled to begin in the spring at a Shubert Organization-owned theatre that has yet to be announced.
Rachel Zegler will return to the role of Eva Perón for the Broadway production. Zegler, who earned the 2026 Olivier Award for her performance in the London staging, will reprise the role on the Main Stem following her critically recognized run in the West End earlier this year.
The production is directed by Jamie Lloyd, whose recent reimagining of the musical in London followed his minimalist approach to classic stage works. His revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Sunset Boulevard” drew attention for its stripped-back staging and use of live video elements, a style that also informed his approach to “Evita.”

The London production of “Evita” originated at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2019 before being revised for a West End run.
The musical “Evita” was originally released in 1976 as a concept album starring Julie Covington and Colm Wilkinson, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It was later staged by director Hal Prince, with original productions in London and on Broadway.
101 Productions will serve as general manager for the Broadway revival. Full production details, including additional casting and specific dates, will be revealed at a later time.
