AEG Presents is turning up the volume in Austin.
The global promoter will take over operations of Emo’s Austin at 2015 East Riverside Drive on January 1, 2027, with plans to renovate, rebrand and reopen the venue in early 2027.
The project will mark AEG Presents’ second Austin venue as the company continues to expand its footprint in the Live Music Capital of the World. The reimagined space is set to receive a slate of upgrades, including improvements to the sound system, green room, backstage areas and guest-facing amenities. The goal: a stronger experience for artists, touring crews and fans alike.
The East Riverside venue will sit alongside AEG Presents’ new 4,000-capacity music venue currently under construction at 4700 East Riverside as part of the River Park development. Together, the two rooms will give the promoter more flexibility in Austin, serving different audience sizes and artist needs while opening the door for broader routing and programming opportunities.
AEG Presents said additional details, including the venue’s new name, programming plans and official opening schedule, will be announced later. The company will begin booking shows ahead of the early 2027 launch.
“Austin has long been one of the great music cities in the world, and we are excited to continue expanding our presence here,” said Robin Phillips, Vice President, Southwest Region, AEG Presents. “Opening a new venue in the Emo’s space gives us the opportunity to welcome more artists, bring more shows to the market, and create even more ways for fans to experience live music in the city.”
The move marks another major step in AEG Presents’ Austin expansion, strengthening its programming capabilities and deepening its role in one of the country’s most active live music markets.
