Off-Broadway’s ‘Heathers The Musical’ Sets 2027 North American Tour

The current Off-Broadway revival of “Heathers The Musical” is preparing to head across North America with a newly announced touring production set for 2027.

The tour is scheduled to kick off with a run at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland, from May 15 through May 22, 2027. Additional engagements are planned in more than 35 cities over multiple touring seasons, with more dates expected to be announced. 

Director Andy Fickman, who also helmed earlier productions of the musical, is leading the revival and upcoming tour. Casting for the touring company has not yet been announced. Producing the revival and upcoming tour are Bill Kenwright Ltd., Paul Taylor-Mills, and Jerry Goehring.

The revival returned to New York on July 10, 2025, at New World Stages, the same venue that hosted the musical’s original Off-Broadway production more than a decade ago. The engagement is currently scheduled to continue through September 6.

Written by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy, “Heathers The Musical” is based on the 1988 cult film of the same name. The story centers on Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, whose rise into the school’s social elite begins after she joins forces with the powerful clique known as the Heathers. Her life takes a darker turn after she becomes involved with a mysterious new student whose rebellious behavior quickly escalates into dangerous territory.

The musical first premiered in Los Angeles in 2013 with a sold-out run before transferring to Off-Broadway in 2014. Since then, the production has undergone several revisions, including changes made for its 2018 West End staging in London. The updated version introduced new songs and revised material, elements that are now being presented to New York audiences for the first time as part of the current revival.
