Eva Noblezada, the two-time Tony nominee who originated the role of Daisy Buchanan in Broadway’s hit musical “The Great Gatsby,” has postponed her return to the Broadway Theatre.
She was originally scheduled to step back into the role on February 5 but will now return on March 4 to recover from a vocal injury.
Noblezada announced the delay on social media, sharing, “Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with laryngitis that has worsened and intensified the condition of my soft nodular vocal injuries,” she wrote.
“My ENT has officially advised me to take a three week medical vocal rest. The truth is that this time to rest and heal is extremely essential for me. Not just for my voice but for my brain and my heart, which have been carrying the heavy burden of an injury for quite some time now,” Noblezada continued.
“I cannot wait to reset back into a state of full health, mentally and vocally!”
Noblezada will succeed Aisha Jackson, who will play her final performance as Daisy on February 1. The actor who will perform the role from February 5 through March 2 has not yet been announced.
The production will also feature a brief reunion with original co-star Jeremy Jordan, who returned to the role of Jay Gatsby in November 2025 and will remain through March 7. Ryan McCartan will play Gatsby February 5 to 9 and March 8 to 29.
The Broadway cast also includes Michael Maliakel as Nick Carraway, Linedy Genao as Myrtle Wilson, Austin Colby as Tom Buchanan, Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker, Charlie Pollock as George Wilson, and Eric Anderson as Meyer Wolfsheim.
The ensemble includes Alexis Hasbrouck, Curtis Holland, Nathaniel Hunt, Traci Elaine Lee, Dariana Mullen, Mariah Reives, Elena Ricardo, Dan Rosales, Dave Schoonover, Mike Schwitter, Tess Soltau, Preston Taylor, Jessica Mallare White, Matt Wiercinski, and Kyla Stone.
