The Chicks have announced a North American tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2006 album Taking The Long Way.
The theater tour begins September 30 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and continues through several major cities before wrapping up in Hollywood in November.
Following the opening night in Detroit, the group will perform two shows at Chicago’s The Auditorium on October 3 and 4. Additional stops include Washington, D.C. ‘s The Anthem on October 6 and two nights at New York’s Beacon Theatre on October 12 and 13.
The tour will continue with a Nashville performance at The Truth on October 15 before heading to Texas. The Chicks are scheduled to play two nights at San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre on October 17 and 18, followed by a stop in Austin on October 20.

The final leg of the run includes two-night engagements in Seattle on October 25 and 26, San Francisco on October 29 and 30 and Hollywood on November 1 and 2. The last shows of the tour will take place at the Dolby Theatre.
In addition to their fall headline tour, The Chicks are also joining Tim McGraw on his Pawn Shop Guitar Tour this summer as well as a handful of festivals.
Released in 2006, Taking The Long Way earned five awards at the Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. The album also featured the single “Not Ready To Make Nice,” which won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Artist presales for the tour begin June 3 at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales start June 4 at 10 a.m. local time.
